What's the best way? I'm also asian, but very shy around girls!
If it's in a bar or club just wait till everyone's drunk, dancing and then start grinding. Not quite sure how you'd approach a stranger in a shopping centre without it looking creepy though.
Asian girls do not go to bars and clubs. Try and get them from the mosque or from university and shopping centre.

Don't hit on strangers unless you are at somewhere like a bar (and even then be polite and respect their personal boundaries), most women don't like that. Ask out people you actually know.
The majority of pushy guys who hit on me in public increase nothing but the number of times I have to say "**** off" each day. The ones who aren't the majority and actually have some manners increase nothing but the number of times I shake my head and walk on by.
I'd advise you not to, as Alpha Brah said, it's not wise to attempt to 'pick up' girls in such public places. They'll just think you're a creep or a practical joker.

Cheers. Good to get a female opinion. I agree, i mean i wouldn't be brash and get in a woman's face if i saw her. I'm more likely to think "oh my god she is so beautiful" and then run the other way out of sheer nervousness..
Advice? Thing is asking out people i know, I haven't met many asian girls, don't know how to, and even when you occasionally see one, they're already taken. Where do they hang out?
I haven't made many asian friends yet, i'm new in town. And I don't know how to get in their social circle. Can't exactly invite myself out with them, and if i ask a girl with a boyfriend, "hey let's hang out sometime" she might think i'm hitting on her/asking her out!!

just have a normal conversation ; in the supermarket you could look into her basket and say "ooh i did not know they still made Bodyform"... then you could sing that hilarious song from the advert. Once the ice is broken they are putty in your hands.
